Unbelievable people. Islamist sympathizers in Pakistan are seeking for an "apology" from the Pope when the Holy Father demanded the Pakistani government to repeal its barbaric law called "Blasphemy Law" which has been used by Islamists against Christians. Let us pray for them because they really do not know what they're doing. And remember to pray for those Christians being harassed and persecuted for the sake of Christ.
Photo Source: JihadWatch.org LAHORE: Despite Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s categorical rejection of a demand by Pope Benedict to repeal the blasphemy laws, religious parties and groups continued their campaign to protect the laws and refused to stop it till Pope’s unconditional apology and dissolution of the parliamentary committee to review the laws.
On Friday, religious parties observed a countrywide protest day against what they called the west-backed conspiracies to amend the blasphemy laws. They held rallies and demonstrated while prayer leaders warned that Pope Benedict’s blatant and outrageous demand had exposed the hands pulling the strings behind the organised conspiracy to ignite religious clashes in Pakistan under the cover of a change in the blasphemy laws.
The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) staged a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club, led by Pir Ajmal Gilani and others who warned that Pope Benedict had challenged the very pillars of Islam and his outrageous act could endanger the security of Christians living in Pakistan and other Muslim countries. Ajmal Gilani said the Pope had in fact exposed the hands pulling strings of the organised campaign against the blasphemy laws in Pakistan. He said it also explained why the Pope did not utter any single word of condemnation against the organised blasphemy by the European press through the desecration of Holy Quran and sketches of the Prophet (SAW) of Islam.
Other leaders, including Pir Atharul Qadri, Raza-e-Mustafa Naqshbandi, Mohammad Ali Naqshbandi, Nawaz Kharal, Mujahid Abdul Rasool, Naeem Arif Noori, Ziaul Mustafa Haqqani, Mukhtar Siddiqi, Khurran Riaz, Mufti Imran Hanfi, Ziaul Haq Naqshbandi, Moeenul Haq Alvi, and Chaudhry Usman said Islam provided the best security and rights to religious minorities, which was evident from the fact that religious liberties and identity of Muslim minorities were brutally suppressed in liberal Europe and the US.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan, while delivering the Friday sermon at Mansoorah mosque, warned that the nation won’t forgive the people who wanted to amend the blasphemy law of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
He said the so-called secular lobby in Pakistan must correct itself and refrain from challenging the religious belief of Muslim majority. He said instead of following Jesus Christ’s teachings, the Christians had placed themselves at the disposal of the Pope and illiterate pastors who were out to destroy the world peace.
The JI chief said that had the Muslim rulers officially condemned Pope’s outburst and lodged a formal protest on that, Pastor Terry Jones could not have the courage to announce his unholy plan. He stressed upon the prime minister to announce at the floor of the National Assembly that there would be no amendment or tampering with the blasphemy law besides withdrawal of the amendment bill tabled by Sherry Rehman.
He said after Salmaan Taseer’s murder, the secular and pro-west lobby and also the rulers were terrified and they considered everyone around themselves as Mumtaz Qadri. It is better for all these people to accept the greatness of Islam and the Holy Prophet, stop supporting any blasphemer, besides seeking pardon from Allah for their past sins and also beg pardon from the nation.
He said those idealising Washington should realise that their leader had been humiliatingly defeated at the hands of unarmed Afghans. He said Britain, Russia and now the US, with all their technology and deadly weapons, had failed to thrust their system on the Muslim world and Islam remained the sole guarantee for peace and human welfare, adding that, Allah Almighty would definitely establish Islam’s supremacy all over the world.
Blasting an American priest’s plan to bring the Quran on trial or to put it to ashes, Syed Munawwar Hasan stressed that those blaming the Muslims of extremism, should condemn such insane moves. It was however unfortunate he said, that the pastor had not learnt any lesson from history and was trying to earn a name through such cheap tactics.
The JI chief also advised the rulers to refrain from military action in North Waziristan under the US pressure as the Western forces at the recent Lisbon conference had been considering ways to pull out their troops from Afghanistan safely and hide their defeat from the world and finally announced troops pullout by 2014.
Jamaatud Dawah Amer Prof Hafiz Mohammad Saeed said US pastor Terry Jones’s declaration to desecrate Quran on March 20 and Pope’s demand to repeal the blasphemy laws were part of sinister campaign by Christian west against Islam. Delivering the Friday sermon, he warned that such conspiracies could not come to a halt unless Muslim rulers give out a clear and stern warning. He called for a unanimous strategy by Muslim rulers against the conspiracies against Islam.
Wafaqul Madaris al Arabiya leadership demanded Islamabad to expel Vatican’s ambassador and call back Pakistani ambassador from there unless the Pope tendered an unconditional apology. In a joint statement following a protest meeting, the leadership of Wafaqul Madaris al Arabiya, the Madaris board affiliated with Deobandi school of thought, warned that Pope’s demand was a conspiracy to endanger the world peace by sparking religious clashes between Islam and Christianity. They warned the Pope against calling for repeal of blasphemy laws, which ensured security of religious minorities in Pakistan by acting as safety valve or people would be encouraged to take the law into their hands against the minorities.
Jamiat Ahle Hadith leaders Prof Abdul Rehman Ludhianvi, Hafiz Shahid Amin, Mufti Aslam Nagori, Rana Nasrullah Khan, Imtiaz Mujahid, Jahanzeb Qureshi, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Ateequr Rehman Shah, and others warned that no power on earth was authorised to change the death punishment for blasphemers of the Holy Prophet (SAW). They suggested that besides the police officer of SP rank, a board of Ulema and scholars could also be invited to verify the allegations of blasphemy before registering the case.
