What’s so great about the Catholic religion?

Q: What’s so great about the Catholic religion?

A: The Catholic Church is the only church that was ever personally founded by Jesus Christ … while he still walked the earth. (Jesus is God, incarnate.)

The Catholic Church has Jesus Christ as its eternal head, and the Holy Spirit as its perpetual guide and advocate.

The only church that was ever authentically established and empowered in this way … the Catholic Church remains the living eye-witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world today, just as it has been since the very beginning.

Despite the internal and external human corruption with which the Catholic Church has always contended, the truth of the church’s essential doctrines, dogmas, liturgies and devotions has miraculously, never been compromised.

The church remains the only infallible guide to a proper moral existence, although few within the church have actually managed to live up to that ideal. Those who are known to have have successfully done so are called “Saints”.

In addition to being The Universal Christian Church on Earth … the Catholic Church is also a sovereign nation-state, known as the Vatican. The Vatican constitutes the world’s oldest, continuously operating government (of any kind).

The Pope is the chief pastor and the leader of the Church, on earth. The holy office of the papacy was also established personally by Jesus Christ. St. Peter was the first pope … the “Rock” on which Jesus Christ would build his church. And lest anyone doubt this is indeed the case … the bones of St. Peter rest today, in an ancient cemetery, almost directly beneath the main altar of St. Peter’s basilica, in the Vatican. See also the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 16, verses 18 &19.

Endowed with the “Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven” … and the virtually unrestricted power of “Binding and Loosing” … on earth and in heaven … the Pope wields truly awesome power and authority.

After the fall of Rome, the Catholic Church took it upon itself to rebuild western civilization in the image of heaven. And in many ways, it succeeded!

The Holy Bible remains a thoroughly Catholic book … preserved, compiled, translated, certified and infallibly endorsed as the totally inerrant, divinely inspired, written Word of God, by the Catholic Church alone … more than a thousand years before any other Christian church even existed.

There are more than 1.1 billion Catholics in the world, today.

Since its original institution in the early first century, the Catholic Church has consistently fulfilled its prophetic mission of saving souls and offering acceptable worship to God … something it never fails to do … every hour of every day … every day of every year … in every nation on earth.

Four “marks” serve to identify the authentic Catholic Church, from age to age:

1) One. The Catholic Church is unique: Jesus Christ founded only one church … the Catholic Church.

2) Holy. The Catholic Church is holy. With Jesus as its founder, the Holy Spirit as its perpetual advocate, and God the Father as its eternal patron, the Catholic Church belongs solely to God. Pure and spotless. Set apart for God’s purposes alone, the church can never be corrupted by sin, or by any other human fault.

3) Apostolic. The Catholic Church is apostolic. The divine power and authority given to the Catholic Church by Jesus Christ is passed down through the generations from the original apostles, to their duly ordained successors, the bishops. And so on.

4) Universal. The word “Catholic” means “universal”. Jesus Christ founded one church to be the universal sacrament of salvation for all.

There’s much, much more … but I think you probably get the idea.

  1. If something is not in the Bible, then I will simply reject it. That is the false thinking of some non-Catholics.
What does Holy Scripture say regarding "everything is in it"?
"Many other signs also Jesus worked in the sight of his disciples,
WHICH ARE NOT WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK."
    John 20:30
"There are, however, many other things that Jesus did; but if everyone of these should be written, not even the world itself, I think, could hold the books that would have to be written."
    John 21:25

Some questions for those who refuse to believe anything, if they cannot find it in the Bible. Tell me then, how can you find answers to these questions?
    1. Show me in the Bible the list of inspired books in it? If you cannot find such a list then how do you know the book you call the Bible is the Bible?
    2. Show me in the Bible where the word "Trinity" is defined? If you cannot find the word in the Bible, then why do you believe in the doctrine? From where did the word "Trinity" come?
    3. Same question for the word "Incarnate"?
    4. Show me in the Bible where the Bible tells you that all the books within it are inspired?
    5. Show me in the Bible where Jesus said what Luke said He said in this verse?
"...and REMEMBER the WORD of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive'." Acts 20:35
    6. Show me in Scripture the reference of Matthew 2:23 that "he shall be called a Nazarene"?
    7. Show me in Scripture the reference of Matthew 5:43 that "you shall hate your enemy"?
    8. Show me in Scripture the reference of 2Timothy 3:8 that "Jamnes and Mambres resisted Moses"?
    9. Tell me, where did your Bible come from? Documents please?
    10. Since you believe all Scripture is inspired, then show me where the Bible excludes the Gospel of Peter and the Gospel of Thomas? Can't find it? Then why are these books not in your Bible?
    11. Show me the verses which say the Bible claims to be the sole authority for Christians in matters of faith and morals?

As you can clearly see, the Bible is far from complete. Some very important questions simply cannot be answered with Scripture alone. Some of these are examples of Apostolic Tradition, for which we are commanded to keep by WORD or by letter in 2Thessalonians 2:15. Apostolic tradition is quite removed from man-made tradition.
Now, where would you go to find the answers to the questions I have just put forth?
Will you just simply ignore the questions and prefer to have no answers?
Or do you honestly want to seek the truth?

  2. The One true Church, and how to recognize it.

Use this guideline as a measure...

*It was founded by Jesus Christ Himself in Mt 16:18.
*It would be built on Simon Peter, Mt 16:18.
*It would be defended by GOD Himself, Mt 16:18-19.
*It would have authority given by Jesus Christ, Mt 16:19,18:17-18.
*It would be guided by the Holy Spirit who will dwell within it, Jn 14:15-17, Act 15:28,16:6.
*It would be one and undivided, Mk 3:24-25.
*It would have one fold and one shepherd, Jn 10:16.
*It would have Priests, Bishops, and Deacons, 1Tim 3:1-13.
*It must have the Holy Eucharist celebration, Jn 6:42-70, Act 2:42.
*It must be found in all nations, Mt 28:19.
*It must be found in all centuries, Mt 28:20.
*Jesus Christ said He would be with His Church every day, in every year, until the end of the world, Mt 28:20. This means no gaps in time.

Examine your Church to see if it meets ALL of these requirements.
It must NOT have a human person founder.
It must have a continuous history going back over 1950 years.

  3. FELIX MANALO FOUNDED the IGLESIA NI CRISTO as a CORPORATION SOLE registered TRADEMARK in the PHILIPPINES!

Just like the brand "SAN MIGUEL BEER" the IGLESIA NI CRISTO remains to be a FILIPINO BRAND for keeping it's TAGALOG registered TRADEMARKS in all its branches outside the Philippines.

Kahit sa English language countries ang SAN MIGUEL ay nananatiling kilala sa pangalang SAN MIGUEL at hindi pwedeng gawing "St. Michael Beer" hehehe... gets niyo?

Ang Iglesiang tatag ni Manalo ay MANANATILING kilala ito sa REGISTERED TRADEMARK na IGLESIA NI CRISTO at kung minsan may parenthesis na translations (Church of Christ) to distinguish it from many many CHURCH OF CHRIST which have been built by different and opposing pastors and ministers.... yet they all regarded the Bible as their SOLE AUTHORITY... and the same BIBLE divided them! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

On the Contrary, the CATHOLIC CHURCH uses the BIBLE which UNITES THEM for more than 2,000 years now.

    1. It's now an INTERNATIONAL NEWS. Watch out for the Catholic Church being in the HEADLINES again.

Please note of the following claims by international news agencies:

      1. The Catholic Church is now more than 2,000 years
      2. The Oldest Institution in the World
      3. The Most influential Church of today

We hope and pray for a new Pope who is as energetic as Pope Benedict XVI.

    1. GENUINE over FAKE?

      GENUINE!

Founded by Christ over Founded by Felix Manalo?

      Founded by Christ!

Owned by the CHURCH over owned by a FAMILY?

      Owned by the CHURCH!!!

Felix Manalo lied about the Catholic Church and that's what every member still believed to this day. So don't be surprised why they still live in the DARKNESS of a LIE that was created by a DECEIVER and an ANTI-CHRIST according to 2 JOHN 1:7.

We never praise those SINNERS in the Church but we elevate those SAINTS who died for God and the Church

yet the INC of Manalo HIGHLIGHT those sinners and HATED the saints!!!!

      HYPOCRITES!
