"The Christianity of history is not Protestantism. If ever there were a safe truth it is this, and Protestantism has ever felt it so; to be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant." (-John Henry Newman, An Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine).

"Where the bishop is, there let the people gather; just as where ever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church". -St. Ignatius of Antioch (ca 110 AD)a martyr later thrown to the lions, wrote to a church in Asia Minor. Antioch was also where the term "Christian" was first used.

“But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15

"This is the sole Church of Christ, which in the Creed we profess to be one, holy, catholic and apostolic." -CCC 811

Sunstar: "The Iglesia ni Cristo Church"?

It's funny but it's grammatically (and legally) correct to say "the Iglesia ni Cristo Church" (or Church of Christ Church) such as what's reported in Sunstar.com!

"Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) Board Chairperson Sylvan Jakosalem said the original plan was for another flyover to be located on D. Jakosalem St., near the Iglesia ni Cristo Church along Gen. Maxilom Ave..." -Source: Sunstar.com
or simply say:
  • English: "the Iglesia ni Cristo Church"
  • Filipino: "ang Simbahan ng Iglesia ni Cristo"
  • French: "l' Iglesia ni Cristo Église"
  • German: "der Iglesia ni Cristo Kirche"
  • Italian: "la Chiesa Iglesia ni Cristo"
  • Latin: "Ecclesia Iglesia ni Cristo"
  • Portuguese: "a Igreja Iglesia ni Cristo"
  • Spanish: "la Iglesia Iglesia ni Cristo"
  • Turkish: "Iglesia ni Cristo Kilisesi"

In the case of the Catholic Church, it is WRONG to say "the Catholic Church Church" or the Iglesia Katolika Church (no writer would ever DARE to use this term ever).

Simply say:
  • English: "the Catholic Church"
  • Filipino: "ang Iglesia Katolika"
  • French: "l'Église Catholique"
  • German: "der Katholischen Kirche"
  • Italian: "la Chiesa Cattolica"
  • Latin: "Ecclesia Catholica"
  • Portuguese: "a Igreja Católica"
  • Spanish: "la Iglesia Católica"
  • Turkish: "Katolik Kilisesi"

Why is it so?

Figure it out for you and you are on the right path to TRUTH! Read ROMANS 16:16
