Catholics should Gaze to Heaven with the Prayer by St. Francis of Assisi

Catholics around the world and in particular our suffering brethren within oppressive Islamic states are being tested. The recent violence targeting Catholics in Iraq send a global waves of condemnation by peace-loving leaders except that we hear no official condemnation from some Islamic States and the noisy CAIR in the United States and Muslim groups in Europe.

While we may be feeling upset with their deafening silence, we, Catholics should not give in to that temptation to hatred. Remember that wrath can cause us to sin and it' one of the 7 Capital Sins, which we can be all patient, one of the 7 Virtues.

The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi will give us a sense of TOTAL LOVE even to those who doesn't know how to love, who doesn't value LIFE. Let's gaze up to heaven with the prayers of St. Francis that we, Catholics will not fall into their trap to sow hatred but LOVE and UNDERSTANDING.

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love,
Where there is injury your pardon Lord,
And where there's doubt true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope,
Where there is darkness, only light,
And where there's sadness, ever joy.

O Master grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we are born to eternal life.
