"The Christianity of history is not Protestantism. If ever there were a safe truth it is this, and Protestantism has ever felt it so; to be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant." (-John Henry Newman, An Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine).

"Where the bishop is, there let the people gather; just as where ever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church". -St. Ignatius of Antioch (ca 110 AD)a martyr later thrown to the lions, wrote to a church in Asia Minor. Antioch was also where the term "Christian" was first used.

“But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15

"This is the sole Church of Christ, which in the Creed we profess to be one, holy, catholic and apostolic." -CCC 811

The Founder was Felix Manalo...

Thanks to Manila Bulletin for saying it correctly. The Iglesia ni Cristo emerged in the Philippines in 1914 was founded by Felix Manalo! Just as "San Miguel Corporation" cannot be translated to "Saint Michael Corporation" the INC name will always be in tagalog form "Iglesia ni Cristo" for this is how it was registered as a Trade Mark-- a corporation sole! Their name cannot stand alone without it's Tagalog registration name! Proudly Philippine-Made!

Iglesia Ni Cristo 97th Anniversary on Wednesday, July 27, 2011

MANILA, Philippines — The first church of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) was established in Punta, Santa Ana, Manila, on July 27, 1914.

Its founder, Brother Felix Y. Manalo, a young man who had been in search of the truth, had drifted from one religious organization to another before he established the Iglesia ni Cristo. Ten years after its founding, the first ecclesiastical district of the Iglesia was formed in Pampanga.

More Iglesia locales and ecclesiastical districts were established before the first foreign mission was formed in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1968. In 1971, the Iglesia inaugurated its Central Office complex in Quezon City and more than a decade later, in 1984, its largest edifice of worship, the Central Temple, was consecrated.

Many more locales and churches were established around the country and in other parts of the world. The growth of the Iglesia, described as one of the most phenomenal among the world’s churches, has been attributed to the zeal of its founder, Ka Felix Y. Manalo, his son, the late Brother EraƱo G. “Ka Erdie” Manalo, and the current Executive Minister of the Iglesia, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.

The growth of the Iglesia has not only led to an improvement of the quality of life of its millions of members. As a social institution, it has proven its commitment to national development, unity, and spiritual growth. The Iglesia ni Cristo has become an integral part of the history and progresses of the country.

In recognition of its phenomenal growth and sustained contribution to national development and global understanding, Congress approved – and the measure was signed into law in 2009 – Republic Act 9645, declaring the 27th of July of each year as a special national working holiday commemorating the founding of the Iglesia ni Cristo. The Republic Act cited the Iglesia for its exemplary feat of leading its members towards spiritual enlightenment and good citizenry.

We congratulate the Iglesia ni Cristo led by Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo, its leaders and faithful, on the occasion of their 97th Anniversary today, July 27, 2011. We wish them all the best and success in all their endeavors. Mabuhay!

  2. Press people report events accurately to the best of their abilty. That's the reason why press people always refer to Manalo as INC's founder. They would sound ridiculous if they'd say Jesus founded the INC. They may lose their job or stripped off their profession as journalists for reporting a misleading information.

  3. how will you explain the growth of the Iglesia ni Cristo if this church was only founded by Minister Manalo! napakaraming mga matatalinong tao at maimpluwensiya pa tulad ninyo meron bang nakagawa ng katulad ng nagawa ng Iglesia Ni Cristo!Kung matalinong tao ang magiisip maiintindihan niya na hindi ito gawa lang nga tao, for what i know Minister Manalo did not finish his elementary schooling, he has no wealth. He alone started preaching about the Iglesia Ni Cristo out smarting the catholic defenders and protestants. If the Iglesia ni Cristo is not the true church how come that it overcomed all the hindrances and obstacles on its path! FOR ONLY 97 YRS. LOOK HOW IGLESIA NI CRISTO HAS BECOME, CONTRARY TO WHAT IS HAPPENING TO CATHOLIC CHURCH AND PROTESTANT DENOMINATIONS! OPEN YOUR MIND AND HEART AND YOU WILL SEE THE TRUTH! GOD BLESS !

Such as the GREGORIAN CALENDAR.. di ba nakikinabang kayo?

You hated PAGAN origin things but

You are USING the ROMAN NUMERALS which is pagan in origin
