URGENT: ISIS threatens to invade Rome and fly its flag over the Vatican (IraqiNews.com)

ISIS has now declared war on the Vatican in their manifesto, which contains numerous details on their plans to invade Rome. In their manifesto they quote one of ISIS’ spokesman Shaykh Abū Muhammad al-’Adnānī ash-Shāmī as saying:

O soldiers of the Islam- ic State, be ready for the final campaign of the crusaders. Yes, by Allah’s will, it will be the final one. Thereafter, we will raid them by Allah’s per- mission and they will not raid us… And so we promise you (crusaders) by Allah’s permission that this campaign will be your final campaign. It will be broken and defeated, just as all your previous campaigns were broken and defeated, except that this time we will raid you thereafter, and you will never raid us. We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah, the Exalted. This is His prom- ise to us; He is glorified and He does not fail in His promise. If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market

Moreover, ISIS makes it clear that Rome is their main target, stating that their jihad will not end until Rome is fully taken, and thus making Rome their top priority:

Finally, do not forget that Allah is with the Mus- lims and will never abandon them to His ene- mies. And the Islamic State will remain until its banner flies over Rome.

They go on to quote al-Qaeda agent Abū Hamzah al-Muhājir, when he spoke of a future Islamic conquest of Rome:

…by Allah, we will not rest from our jihād until we are under the olive trees of Rome, after we destroy the filthy house called the White House

Notice how he says the conquest of Rome will happen after they conquer the White House, and notice how he says that they will not rest until they conquer Rome. Again, this places Rome as the major priority of the Muslim expansion. They continue on to say that Rome does not just signify the Vatican or the Italian city, but the Christians of Europe in general, and that after the Muslims defeat them, then they will take the city of Rome:

the Muslims will be at war with the Roman Christians. Rome in the Arabic tongue of the Prophet (sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) refers to the Christians of Europe and their colonies in Shām prior to the conquering of Shām at the hands of the Sahābah. There will be a pause in this war due to a truce or treaty. … Then the Romans will commit treachery by raising the cross and killing a Muslim. This will lead to the continuation of the war between the Muslims and the Romans. They will demand access to those who enslaved some of them or the former captives themselves who accept- ed Islam so as to fight them. This enslavement will have taken place either before the signing of the truce or after the treachery, and Allah knows best. These events all lead up to the final, greatest, and bloodiest battle – al-Malhamah al- Kubrā – between the Muslims and the Romans prior to the appearance of the Dajjāl and the descent of al-Masīh. This battle ends the era of the Roman Christians, as the Muslims will then advance upon Constantinople and thereafter Rome, to conquer the two cities and raise the flag of the Khilāfah over them.

The Holy League, a confederacy of Catholic nations (that consisted mainly of Spain and Italy) that formed in the late 16th century to fight the Ottoman Turks, will rise again. This is not just some utopian dream, but an event foretold by God; for in the Book of Daniel it says,

For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. (Daniel 11:30)

Chittim consists of Cyprus, Greece, and Italy. The New King James renders it as “ships from Cyprus”, while the Douay-Rheims presents the passage as, “And the galleys and the Romans shall come upon him”. The Greeks, Cypriots, and Italians will be appointed by God to fight the Muslim armies of the Antichrist. The Greeks and the Cypriots are Eastern Orthodox, while the Italians are Roman Catholics.

The holy centurion, Cornelius, was amongst the first warriors to join the fold of Christianity, and he was “of that which is called the Italian band” (Acts 10:1). And the Italians of today, the inheritors of that mighty Cornelius, will be amongst the forces who will fight the Antichrist.

The Catholic world will therefore join forces with the Eastern Orthodox world, and together they will combat and crush the empire of the revived Ottomans and their Islamic confederacy. It will be a holy war; the Cross will be our banner; our souls will be armed with the Sword of the Spirit, and the hilt of the sword will be gripped in the thrall of mighty Christendom! The Holy League will rise again, and the New Crusade will end with the sword stained by pagan blood!

The New Crusade will be one based on Christianity, its foundation will be Orthodox theology; it will unsheathe the sword of truth and the eternal blade of the Spirit, and through Christ the warriors will sternly charge and conquer their enemies.

"The myth of the tiny radical Muslim minority is just that – it’s a myth."

[Source: Western Journalism] In a new video, Truth Revolt’s Ben Shapiro took on the popular leftist talking point that radicals make up a tiny fraction of the overall Islamic population. Citing recent comments by Barack Obama and “horrifyingly mediocre actor” Ben Affleck, Shapiro used surveys from many of the nations with a large Muslim population to debunk such claims.

He conceded that other faiths, including Judaism and Christianity, hold certain violent texts sacred, though he made one unavoidable distinction.

“Believers in those particular texts are not currently ramming airlines into towers or beheading journalists or mutilating female genitalia,” he explained.

While actively violent jihadists are clearly a minority within the faith, Shapiro noted that far too many support such radical ideals.

“Almost 50 percent of Indonesians actually support strict sharia law, not just in Indonesia but in a lot of countries,” he said of the predominantly Muslim nation, “and 70 percent blame the United States, Israel, or somebody else for 9/11.”

Using those statistics, he estimated 143 million radical Muslims live within that country.

By determining how many Muslims in other nations hold a similar ideology, including a belief in honor killings or terror attacks, Shapiro concluded more than 800 million practitioners of the faith would qualify as extremists. That number includes nearly 500,000 living within the U.S.

“That’s not a minority,” he said, “that’s now a majority. The myth of the tiny radical Muslim minority is just that – it’s a myth. And unfortunately it’s a myth that’s going to get a lot of civilized people killed.”

Canadian Islam teacher with extremist views arrested, recommended for deportation from the Philippines

DAVAO CITY -- The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has blacklisted and recommended the deportation of a Canadian Islam teacher who was arrested for alleged terrorist links.

Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, the imaam and khateeb at Abu Hurairah Center where he teaches five free university-level classes weekly and counsels Muslim families two days per week in Qatar, has been charged for violation of Section 37a2 of the Commonwealth Act No. 613 also known as “The Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.”

Philips has written, translated, and commented on over 50 published books on various Islamic topics and he has also edited and published the 56-book Eemaan English Reading Series for children and Muslim schools.

Dr. Philips has also presented Islamic programs for a number of years on Riyadh Channel 2TV, Sharjah TV, Peace TV, Huda TV, Islam Channel, UK, and the Deen Show, Chicago, USA and GuideUS TV, from Washington USA.

Philips was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP XI) on Sunday while he was conducting a lecture in Barangay Maa, this city.

The agency will deport him as soon as the order of the BI Board of Commissioner is issued.

Philips was entered into the list of people denied entry into the Philippines only on September 5. He is also banned from entering Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Kenya, and the United States.

However, he has managed to enter the Philippines particularly Davao City on September 4, 2014 with his family.

Philips is now in the custody of BI. Phillips, who was born Dennis Bradley Philips in Jamaica, is a Canadian Muslim teacher, speaker, and author. Although he’s been based in Qatar, Philips is married to a Filipina from Cotabato City.

Police Regional Office (PRO) XI Chief Supt Wendy Rosario said Philips is a national security threat.

Rosario said Phillips has been reported to have links with a terror group and has been noted for his radical extremism.

According to Rosario, Philips came to the Philippines on an invitation from a certain individual to do lectures.

After Davao, Phillips is also scheduled to conduct a lecture in Zamboanga.

Rosario said three more persons of interest have been invited by PRO XI to answer some questions.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Officer-in-Charge Marvin Pepino said Davao is on heightened alert status with Philips presence in the city.

Pepino said security measures are in place to prevent reactions from Philips followers.

Meanwhile, 10th Infantry Division spokesperson Lewellyn Binasoy said Philips is considered a person of interest. He said he could be a threat because his views are heard by others.

While Philips is police case, Binasoy said the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is collaborating with authorities to step up intelligence gathering for reaction on Philips’s arrest.

Yahoo!News - The president of the world's most populous Muslim-majority country, Indonesia, on Thursday called the actions of Islamic State militants "embarrassing" to the religion and urged Islamic leaders to unite in tackling extremism.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the scale of the slaughter wrought by the extremists in overrunning large swathes of Iraq and Syria and the level of violence being used was appalling.

"It is shocking. It is becoming out of control," he said in an interview with The Australian, a day after IS released a video showing a masked militant beheading US reporter James Foley, provoking worldwide revulsion.

"We do not tolerate it, we forbid ISIS in Indonesia," he added, referring to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, as IS was formerly known.

"Indonesia is not an Islamic state. We respect all religions."

He urged international leaders to work together to combat radicalisation.

"This is a new wake-up call to international leaders all over the world, including Islamic leaders," he said, adding that the actions of IS were not only "embarrassing" to Islam but "humiliating", the newspaper reported.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed leader of the 'Islamic State' stretching across Iraq and Syria, has vowed to lead the conquest of Rome as he called on Muslims to immigrate to his new land to fight under its banner around the globe.

Baghdadi, who holds a PhD in Islamic studies, said Muslims were being targetted and killed from China to Indonesia. Speaking as the first Caliph, or commander of the Islamic faithful since the dissolution of the Ottoman empire, he called on Muslims to rally to his pan-Islamic state.



"Those who can immigrate to the Islamic State should immigrate, as immigration to the house of Islam is a duty," he said in an audio recording released on a website used by the group formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham.

"Rush O Muslims to your state. It is your state. Syria is not for Syrians and Iraq is not for Iraqis. The land is for the Muslims, all Muslims.

"This is my advice to you. If you hold to it you will conquer Rome and own the world, if Allah wills."

One church leader is pointing the finger at the West to explain the disappearance of Iraq’s Christians, writes Salah Nasrawi

Ahram.org - As the mass exodus of Iraq’s Christians continues, so does the call for ending the plight of those who have remained. Like Iraq’s ancient Jewish community before them, one of the world’s oldest Christian communities may soon cease to exist.

The disappearance of Iraq’s religious minorities has been a troubling trend since the US-led invasion in 2003, and it has threatened to end the cultural diversity of Iraq. As the violence in the country spikes and religious intolerance grows, many Christians, Yazidis, Mandaeans and other minority community members are leaving the country.

Last week, the head of the Iraqi Catholic Church sent a chilling warning that Iraq’s 2,000-year-old Christian community is on the brink of extinction as new waves of Christians take the journey of exodus.

The exodus is largely blamed on the worsening security since the US-led invasion that toppled former president Saddam Hussein’s regime. Christians have suffered abuses by Muslim extremists and militias, including brutal attacks, death threats and forcible seizure of property.

But Chaldean patriarch Louis Sako now believes that intervention by the West in the region has exacerbated the problem by producing more chaos and conflict in the war-ravaged country, and it is this that has been driving Christians to flee.

Non-Muslim pupils forced to eat in bathroom because of Ramadan

The act of segregation is condemned by politicians and Muslims. Our "religion does not dictate this," Muslim woman says. However, in many Islamic countries, non-Muslims are required to respect the eating ban during the period of fasting.

Kuala Lumpur (AsiaNews/Agencies also read here) - Non-Muslim children in a Malaysian primary school were forced to have lunch in the facility's change room whilst their classmates fasted during Ramadan. Pictures of ethnic Chinese and Indian (usually Christian or Hindu) children were posted on the internet by one of the mothers, Guneswari Kelly, causing an uproar among politicians and Muslims opposed to unhygienic segregation.

On her Facebook page, Kelly Guneswari wrote that staff at the Sri Pristana School, in suburban Kuala Lumpur, told non-Muslim children to eat in the school's bathroom and not in the canteen. "Is this fair? Can [a national school] treat [non-Muslim pupils] like this" during Ramadan?

After being informed, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin ordered an investigation into the matter, saying he would take action.

School officials have not released any statement, but Jehan Bakar, a Muslim woman lawyer and mother of two, said she was "horrified" by the segregation of non-Muslim children. Our "religion does not dictate this," she insisted.

In fact Islam does not ask non-Muslims to fast or hide, but in many Islamic countries, Christians, Hindus or people of other religions are asked (and sometimes forced) not to eat in public or are not allow to eat at all during the fasting period, which runs from dawn to dusk.

In Malaysia, there are often signs of impatience towards Islamic rules that are often applied in a very restrictive way. Recently, a Chinese couple was accused of sedition for posting online a Ramadan greeting that showed them eating pork, which is forbidden in Islam.

In 2010, the principal of a secondary school in the state of Kedah accused ethnic Chinese students of being insensitive towards their Muslim classmates because they ate at school during Ramadan, telling them to "return to China" if they could not respect the culture of other ethnic groups.

Another Catholic church attacked in Kerala

The police has not yet identified the culprits, probably Hindu extremists. About 20 masked men forced the door of the building, broke windowpanes, and destroyed the altar, the confessional, lights, and sacred ornaments, desecrating the sacred building. Hearing noises, Catholics rushed to the church where they were threatened by the attackers.

Kollam (AsiaNews) – Police has not yet identified the extremists who on Sunday sacked the Catholic church in Kottenkulangara, near Kollam, in Kerala.

Twenty masked vandals, probably Hindu extremists, forced the door and broke the windows, destroying the altar, the confessional, lights, and sacred ornaments, thus desecrating the sacred building.

Their suspicions aroused by the noise, Catholics rushed to the church where the attackers threatened them. One of the attackers also stole a gold chain from Susi Antony, whose family lives nearby.

CAIRO (AFP) - An Egyptian military court on Sunday sentenced two Coptic Christians to five years in jail for violence and trying to turn a factory into an unlicensed church, judicial sources said.

The two men, also convicted of possessing weapons, were arrested on May 18 after clashes between Christians and Muslims in Cairo's Ain Shams district as the Copts planned to hold prayers in the building.

A Coptic-led group that took part in a reconciliation meeting between the two sides says the two men are innocent and their lawyers will try to appeal the ruling.

Sameh Abdel Satar, a member of the Egypt Lovers and Peace Society, said the Coptic Church had obtained permission in January to convert the building, which it had purchased in 2006, into a church.
