The word “unthinkable” is an amusing expression, an oxymoron wrapped in a single word. Nevertheless, it points us towards some very unpleasant things we are forced to think about, such as nuclear war or a Church in crisis.

Until very recently, the prospect of a pope promulgating significant doctrinal error was unthinkable. But many of us are now fretting about ambiguous papal pronouncements said to be “authentic magisterium” that directly oppose Scripture and Tradition.

It is always helpful to remember that a pope does not create doctrines; he elucidates doctrines to conserve the Faith he has received. The Fathers of the First Vatican Council defined the teaching authority of the pope. But they link his authority to Scripture and Tradition, the Church’s entire doctrinal history:

The Roman pontiffs . . . sometimes by summoning ecumenical councils or consulting the opinion of the Churches scattered throughout the world, sometimes by special synods, sometimes by taking advantage of other useful means afforded by divine providence, defined as doctrines to be held those things which, by God’s help, they knew to be in keeping with Sacred Scripture and the apostolic traditions. (Vatican I, Chapter 4, emphasis added.)

The Fathers of the Second Vatican Council Fathers likewise link the authentic magisterium to Tradition and Scripture:

But when either the Roman Pontiff or the Body of Bishops together with him defines a judgment, they pronounce it in accordance with Revelation itself, which all are obliged to abide by and be in conformity with, that is, the Revelation which as written or orally handed down is transmitted in its entirety through the legitimate succession of bishops and especially in care of the Roman Pontiff himself, and which under the guiding light of the Spirit of truth is religiously preserved and faithfully expounded in the Church. (Vatican II, LG 25, emphasis added.)

For example, the infallible teachings about Mary’s Immaculate Conception and Assumption emerged from unsettled Catholic theology. But the deeper understanding could be explained in light of Tradition and in relationship with the rest of Catholic doctrines and dogmas.

On sexual matters, the Church’s constant teachings in her ordinary magisterium on the nature and goods of marriage – and intrinsic sexual disorders such as contraceptive acts and homosexual behavior – are well-defined infallible teachings of the Church rooted in Scripture and Tradition. These clear doctrines not only provide precise moral guidance but opportunities for fruitful theological reflection bringing even greater clarity.

The Council Fathers carefully defined the authority of bishops – and assumed their fidelity and goodwill in conserving and faithfully teaching Catholic truth. But the Fathers surely knew the many ways that unfaithful bishops betray their office, usually by neglect but sometimes by flawed teachings.

The Fathers apparently did not see the need to state the obvious: doctrinal violations of Church teaching by bishops cannot bind the faithful in conscience. It is at least conceivable that a pope might also reject and abuse the graces of his office in a similar way. Such errors may muddy the waters of the ordinary magisterium, but obviously cannot bind in conscience.

We can see in this video that Parba found it very difficult to distort the Bible verses using his questionable knowledge of biblical languages.

Since his explanation of John 1:1 is wrong, no New Testament scholar will agree with him that the Greek word "Theos" in John 1:1 is an adjective. He used the verse from the Old Testament where the Hebrew word, "נְשִׂיא אֱלֹהִים" or "mighty prince" in English was compared to the 3rd clause of John 1:1 "and the Word was God".

IF UNDERSTANDING OF HEBREW TEXT IS WRONG, WHAT MORE IF IT IS ABOUT SYNTAX?

When Ramil Parba read Genesis 23:6, we noticed he read the word, אֲדֹנִי (Adoni) as Adonay so he referred to Abraham as God. He was wrong from the start.

Is it right to use the Hebrew Word "נְשִׂיא אֱלֹהִים" or "n'si Elohim" from Genesis 23:6 to show that the Greek word Theos in the 3rd clause of John 1:1 is an adjective?

He used the Hebrew syntax since he wanted to rectify his wrong understanding about the Greek syntax?

שְׁמָעֵנוּ אֲדֹנִי, נְשִׂיא אֱלֹהִים אַתָּה בְּתוֹכֵנוּ--בְּמִבְחַר קְבָרֵינוּ, קְבֹר אֶת-מֵתֶךָ; אִישׁ מִמֶּנּוּ, אֶת-קִבְרוֹ לֹא-יִכְלֶה מִמְּךָ מִקְּבֹר מֵתֶךָ.

(Genesis 23:6, Hebrew Bible)

First of all, Elohim is not an adjective in Genesis 23:6. As usual, think context. Genesis is an ancient narrative, in Hebrew, written in the sixth or fifth century BCE, in formal courtly language: “a prince of God.” As opposed to ancient narrative, John (half a millennium later) is making a solemn claim, in Greek, that Jesus is God and co-eternal with God. The Hebrew and the Greek cannot be compared on equal terms. The Hittites (polytheists!) are not thinking John's "God."

John specifically and dramatically is claiming that Jesus IS GOD.

John 1:1 is Greek, while Genesis 23:6 is Hebrew; so the rules of syntax are somewhat different.

Greek syntax works different than Hebrew syntax.

Ramil Parba is trying to confuse the issue by appealing to Hebrew syntax as a way to refute a point of Greek syntax.

That would be like suggesting a point in Spanish syntax could illumine an issue in French syntax—mixing apples and oranges.

The question about the syntax in John 1:1 is Greek, so the only kind of syntactical parallels that will count must be in Greek.

My Message for Joe Ventilacion (INC™) Regarding His Education At Harvard University

When Kuya Adviser posted his article on his FB page, Ventilacion posted comments on his FB page about me. He said I was challenging him and asking questions about textual criticism and that I have to study more about this topic.

He is simply boasting that he studied at Harvard University. He posted this on his FB Page conspicuously.

I am just wondering who among bible and textual scholars from Harvard University favor the interpretation made by Jose Ventilacion.

I asked Dr. Eugene Ulrich, a former professor at Harvard University who among his colleagues do not agree with King Cyrus referring to “Bird of Prey” in Isaiah 46:11. It is clear that Ventilacion does not concur with this and instead, he makes it appear that Felix Manalo is the one just like what his Church is doing.

Here is the email response of Dr. Eugene Ulrich:

By the way, Dr. Eugene Ulrich is one of my mentors in Biblical Languages.

Now, you studied at Harvard but you did not follow your professors and mentors in textual criticism who said explicitly that Cyrus is really being referred to as the Bird of Prey in Isaiah 46:11 and yet, it is Manalo whom you are pointing at.

It is clear you studied at Harvard University not to learn from the experts and it is not for you to boast about it. So, you do not follow what you learned.

You attended the SBL Annual Meeting and you were given the go-signal by your Executive Minister, Eduardo V. Manalo.

If it was Dr. James Richard Saley who delivered the lecture and you attended that, participated and listened; is it not a slap on your face as a result of what is written in your Pasugo Magazine?

I asked Dr. Eugene Ulrich if he knows Dr. James Richard Saley. Dr. Eugene Ulrich told me they are good friends and he presumes Dr. Saley is a Protestant.

Does Dr. James Richard Saley know that you taught your listeners that Felix Manalo is the Bird of Prey in Isaiah 46:11? Can you ask him if he agrees with your interpretation? 🙂

So, Joe Ventilacion listened to a Protestant whom you addressed as Devil. And, you studied at Harvard University wherein some professors are Protestants.

I give you 2 weeks to answer my post at splendor that INC members can read. I pray that you will be enlightened as well as them someday or they will soon realize your false teachings.

Answer the following because you studied textual criticism at Harvard University:

1. Who are the Bible Professors and Textual Scholars from Harvard University favor your interpretation that Felix Manalo is the Bird of Prey in Isaiah 46:11?
2. Who are the textual scholars from Harvard University who taught you that you translated Mizrach in Isaiah 43:5 of Aleppo Codex as “Far East”? Give me the names of at least 3 textual scholars.
3. Who are the textual scholars from Harvard University whom you can prove translated the Greek word (Logos) in John 1:1 to “idea” as you did?
4. Who are the textual scholars (at least three) from Harvard University who can give testimonies that your LAMSA Translation is Accurate?

I will wait for your reply, Joe Ventilacion.

And, if you are boasting that we need to square off in a debate, do not give me any conditions that I should pay for the venue rental since there are many public venues which are free.

Just tell me when and I will submit my proposal to the nearest INC Local.

Prove that the LAMSA is accurate using Greek text and testimonies of Aramaic scholars if you are really intelligent in textual criticism and that I still need to study.

Muslim Defenders shamed themselves in a Public Debate with Catholic Defenders!

Italian Bishop: Muslims Must Condemn Islamist Violence or Leave Italy

Says Nobody Wants Enemies in Their Own Home

An Italian bishop has called on Muslims in traditionally Christian countries in Europe to publicly denounce Islamist persecution or they should be "courageous" enough to own up to their beliefs "and leave our country," because "nobody wants enemies in their own home."

In a forceful editorial in his local diocesan newspaper this past weekend, Bishop Tommaso Ghirelli of Imola called on citizens to stop blaming foreigners en masse. “Rather we are asking the Muslims who live among us to show that they are honourable men, and publicly condemn these persecutions and acts of cruelty,” he said. “Otherwise they ought to have the courage to leave our country, because nobody wants to have enemies in their own home.”

He added: “We know that they are intimidated by fundamentalists, but the time has come to break the vicious cycle of abuse.”

He also called on politicians to fulfil their duty to protect and defend the lives and the freedom of the people, otherwise they “will pay dearly for every silence and every act of cowardice.”

Bishop Ghirelli’s words have already shaken consciences. The president of the House of Islamic Culture in Imola, Mohamed Sabir, wishes to address the bishop’s concerns during commemorations on September 11, the 13thanniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

THE CALIPHATE AND REFUGEES

September 7, 2014

Let’s take a look at what’s behind the influx of refugees and immigrants arriving by sea, and the vast number of youth and entire families from Africa and the Orient that have come into Europe across the “mare nostrum” [the Mediterranean Sea] in the space of one year. The number is about 150,000, by the end of the year it will be almost 200,000.

It is certain that we will see not one, but a complete series of dramatic conflicts, political problems and social tensions. This is the reason we are talking now about a third world war in progress. As well as the immediate response to the emergency, the most important thing [to do] is to look further than the sea. Which means also looking – by reflex – at our own home: not only in political spheres, not only in business affairs, but also inside our own hearts. Is there fatalism or resignation there? What is happening to me?

So, let’s look then at distinguishing first of all the refugees – those in search of asylum – and the immigrants – those in search of work.

The wars the refugees are escaping from are not natural phenomena. Who is causing them? For what reasons? Who precisely are the contenders? We must be informed and be informed by the ones who know. Also this diocesan weekly is called to play a part here.

Some dramatic warnings were launched at the end of the terrible month of August by Syrian and Iraqi bishops at the Meeting in Rimini. The proposal to have another day of prayer for Syria and the Middle East on Sunday September 7 was launched, repeating the one of a year ago at Pope Francis’ invitation. We note that in the meantime the conflict has extended and has aggravated, even if politicians have become more circumspect, by recognizing some of their grave errors. The number of victims however is rising; the persecution of Christians has spread to other religious minorities and the cruelty and arrogance of the armed bands have reached levels of bestial paroxysm. Faced with the armed actions of ISIS, the people are appealing to Governments and International Authorities.

It is my view that we must be demanding of them, like the courageous mothers of the Russian soldiers.

Politicians, you have the duty to protect and defend - not supremacy, but the lives and the freedom of the people, otherwise you will pay dearly for every silence and every act of cowardice. And we the citizens must stop blaming foreigners en bloc. Rather we are asking the Muslims who live among us to show that they are honourable men, and publicly condemn these persecutions and acts of cruelty. Otherwise they ought to have the courage to leave our country, because nobody wants to have enemies in their own home. We know that they are intimidated by fundamentalists, but the time has come to break the vicious cycle of abuse.

The situation is grave, so let’s all get started without hesitation, going beyond either do-goodism or intolerance.

Even their ministers are ashamed to give its copy to others, as its arguments and criticisms against Catholics are substandard and mean which can be easily refuted and proven baseless. This book is widely used by ‘Iglesia Ni Cristo®’ as a guide to attack the Catholic faith and it gives all tricks and guidelines, how to make a Catholic, an anti-Catholic! The 12 lessons of this book, against the Holy Catholic Church, are used to confuse the indoctrinee, who sits in front of the minister, attracted by advertisements of salvation in the TV shows of INC™, thirsting to hear the word of God! To make him a victim of these falsehoods, the minister uses different Bible translations! There will be many ‘bibles’ in the table of a minister which are to be changed cunningly, one after another, to get favorable words and interpretations, just for defending the claims of this Pandoktrina! It creates an impression in the indoctrinee that the minister is quoting everything from the Bible! Thus ‘Pandoktrina’ becomes the master, and different bibles, its servants! To make things safe, some Catholic writer’s books will also be quoted out of context! (Those books are not given for further reading; if so, the indoctrinee will become a better Catholic!) When the minister becomes successful in injecting this ‘poison of hatred’ in the mind of the indoctrinee, he becomes worthy to be a member of INC™, and taken for baptism. The minister, who is successfully confusing more number of Catholics, gets the title with recognition: ‘The Most Fruitful Minister!’ Thousands of Filipino Catholics are already trapped in this deception!

On Thursday, March 6, 2008, prominent Cleveland businessman Sam Miller (a Jew) gave a speech defending Catholicism from media bias at the City Club of Cleveland (Ohio). The text of the speech was published in the May-June issue of the Buckeye Bulletin. Several Catholic blogs, including this one, posted the speech.

“Why would newspapers carry on a vendetta on one of the most important institutions that we have today in the United States, namely the Catholic Church?

Do you know – the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at the cost to that Church of 10 billion dollars, and a savings on the other hand to the American taxpayer of 18 billion dollars. The graduates go on to graduate studies at the rate of 92%.

The Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment of 700,000 students.

The Catholic Church has a non-profit hospital system of 637 hospitals, which account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people – not just Catholics – in the United States today.

But the press is vindictive and trying to totally denigrate in every way the Catholic Church in this country. They have blamed the disease of pedophilia on the Catholic Church, which is as irresponsible as blaming adultery on the institution of marriage.

Let me give you some figures that Catholics should know and remember. For example, 12% of the 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual intercourse with a parishioner; 38% acknowledged other inappropriate sexual contact in a study by the United Methodist Church, 41.8% of clergy women reported unwanted sexual behavior; 17% of laywomen have been sexually

harassed. Meanwhile, 1.7% of the Catholic clergy has been found guilty of pedophilia. 10% of the Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia. This is not a Catholic problem.

A study of American priests showed that most are happy in the priesthood and find it even better than they had expected, and that most, if given the choice, would choose to be priests again in face of all this obnoxious PR the church has been receiving.

The Catholic Church is bleeding from self-inflicted wounds. The agony that Catholics have felt and suffered is not necessarily the fault of the Church. You have been hurt by a small number of wayward priests that have probably been totally weeded out by now..

Walk with your shoulders high and your head higher. Be a proud member of the most important non-governmental agency in the United States.

Then remember what Jeremiah said: ‘Stand by the roads, and look and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is and walk in it, and find rest for your souls’. Be proud to speak up for your faith with pride and reverence and learn what your Church does for all other religions.

Ako si Katryn M. Leonor, 19 na taong gulang at naging Kristiyano noong ika-30 ng Enero taong 1994.

Marami ang nagtatanong kung bakit ako naging interesado sa pag-aaral ng Apologetics at sa pagtatanggol ng ating Simbahan. Hayaan niyong ilahad ko sa inyo ang aking istorya.

Sampung taong gulang pa lamang ako ay naglilingkod na ako sa simbahan bilang choir. Tuwing 3pm ay kumakanta kami sa Children's mass. Di naglaon ay sumali rin ako sa Legion of Mary at ako ay naging Junior Legionary.

Nang tumuntong ako sa highschool ay pumasok ako sa kaisa-isahang Katolikong paaralan sa aming bayan, at yun ay ang Saint Peter's School. Dito ay masasabing kong lumalim din ang aking pananampalataya at naging interesado din ako sa mga bagay tungkol sa ating relihiyon. Naging miyembro ako ng Theresian, SCA, naging student Catechist, naging lector, once naging commentator at siyempre sumali rin ako sa choir. Sumasali rin ako sa mga religion quizbees.

Sa loob ng apat ng taon ko sa paaralang ito ay masasabi kong nakatulong ito sa pagpapatibay ng pundasyon ng aking pananamplataya kaya noong ako ay makagraduate dito ay hindi ko pa rin itinigil ang pagsimba ko linggu-linggo. Hindi na nga lang ako nakakaattend ng novena para sa Mother of Perpetual Help dahil pumapasok na ko nun sa kolehiyo.

Hanggang sa nagkaroon ako ng boyfriend at siya ay isang Born Again. Sa una ay hindi ako sumasama sa kanya dahil ayaw ko talaga kasi parang pangit sa katulad ko na graduate ng Catholic school ang sumimba sa ganun.

Hanggang sa inakit niya ko sa Christmas party ng kanilang simbahan. Hindi ko naman siya matanggihan kaya um-oo na lang ako, gitarista nga pala siya ng music ministry nila. Yun pala, bago magparty ay may worship service muna sila. So ayun na nga po, natouch yung puso ko sa worship songs nila, una po na napakinggan ko ay yung "At the Cross". Naramdaman ko nun na parang anlayu-layo ko kay God that time. I felt guilty cause of my sins that I've done. Hindi naman po kasi ako sobrang religious nung mga panahong yun. Oo, nagsisimba ako pero I know just a little about our Catholic Faith.

That time,  hindi naman po ako nakakaisip lumipat sa kanila. May pinapanghawakan kasi akong pangako na binitiwan namin ng aking bestfriend noong 3rd year highschool kami. Oras yun ng Christian Living and Values namin. Nangako kami na "Ipinanganak kaming Katoliko, mamamatay din kaming Katoliko" (kabilang din sa pangako namin na walang magpaparebond samin ng buhok, pero hindi ko na sana ilalagay kasi wala namang koneksyon ito sa blogpost ko hehe)

Nung first time kong sumama sa kanya ay na-guilty din ako bilang Katoliko dahil pagkatapos kong sumimba sa Catholic ay dumiretso ako sa simbahan nila.

Pagkatapos po nun, kapag inaakit niya ko na sumimba sa kanila ay nagdadahilan na lang ako ng kung anu-ano para hindi ako makasama sa kanya.

One time, habang kami'y namamasyal ay nag-open siya ng topic kumbakit daw tayo nagpapahid ng panyo sa mga rebulto at bakit daw tayo lumuluhod sa harap nun. Sumagot naman ako based on my logic at salamat sa Diyos tama pala ang naisagot ko sa kanya. Sabi ko, "Hindi naman dun sa rebulto kami nananalangin kundi sa nirerepresenta nito"

Halos magsigawan na kami nun sa tabing kalsada kasi idinedepensa namin parehas ang aming panig. At the end naman ay naging okay rin kami, Sinabi ko "Hindi ako titigil sa pagtatanggol sa relihiyon ko. Sabi naman niya, "Ako rin"

Napaisip ako nun na magresearch pero nawala sa isip ko na magresearch kaya pagkalipas ng ilang araw ay party na naman sa simbahan nila. (Christmas party ng church nila doon sa sinabi ko kanina, ngayon ay Christmas party naman ng mga Youth people)

Nung nag-speech na yun pastora ay may sinabi siya na dati raw siyang Katoliko, sinabi niya na kung may nag-aakit daw na magsimbang gabi ay wag sumama. Nung Katoliko pa kasi siya ay inaantok daw siya pag simbang gabi at naiinis sa mga matatandang nagdadaldalan habang may misa.

Gustung-gusto ko sumagot nun pero siyempre, nagkontrol muna ko ng sarili, hindi naman kasi ako eskandalosa.

December 2010 yan nangyari. Sa loob ng isang taon ay nabibilang sa daliri ang pagsama ko sa ex ko sa simbahan nila. Tuwing may okasyon lang ako sumasama kasi I'm afraid na baka hindi ako makatupad sa promise namin ng bestfriend ko.

Ang nakakatuwa nito, ay sumasama sakin dati yung ex ko sa pagsimba. Nakakatuwa nga e, lumuluhod din siya pag may luhod (kahit medyo labag sa kanyang kalooban) Hindi ko na nga pinapaluhod pero lumuhod pa rin siya (ako ay lumuhod just like this)
                        
Ang isa pa sa nakakatuwa ay nakihawak kamay siya sa Ama Namin.

Meron akong lola. Actually hindi ko talaga siya lola, ninang siya nina papa sa kasal. Isa rin siya sa nakatulong kumbakit ako ganito ngayon. She's really a 'deboto' at isinasama niya ko sa Dawn penitential procession. Marami akong natutunan sa kanya. Isa rin siya sa mga nagpabago ng ugali ko. Siya rin ang naging dahilan kumbakit ako nagkaroon ng debosyon sa Divine Mercy. Marami rin siyang ibinahagi sa aking prayer booklets and pamplets. Sa kanya ako humihingi ng advice pag may problema ako, sabi niya magdasal ka lang lagi..

Eto siya oh.. please pray for her.. Sister Crispina Agawin..

So now let's proceed, First Saturday of the month ay isinama namin ni lola yung ex ko sa dawn procession - nang nakayapak.

Sa loob ng isang taon ay wala namang gaanong nangyari, basta ang alam ko, mas lalong tumatag yung faith ko as a Catholic. Hindi pa ko nag-aapologetics that time. Pero dumating sa point na medyo nanghina ang faith nung sumasama ulit ako sa kanya. Napakabait kasi nung churchmates niya maging yung pastor. Nahihilig na rin ako sa worship songs nila. May isa nga dun na nagsabi, "Uy *pangalan ni ex*, dapat sa susunod naipatanggap mo na siya ha?". Hindi ko pa nagegets kong ano yun nung time na yun.

Minsan, tinanong ako ni ex kung "Tinanggap mo na ba si Hesus bilang Panginoon at personal mong Tagapagligtas?". Sumagot ako, "Oo". Tinanong niya ko kung kelan. "Sabi ko, "Nung ako ay binyagan." at tumahimik na siya. Ngayon ko lang nagets na  yun pala yung unang process para maging born again, na para raw 'saved' na ko. Sorry na lang sa kanya kung hindi niya ineexpect yung sagot ko =)
Yun pala yung sinasabi nung babae na "pagpapatanggap".

Noong November 10 ay napadaan ako sa simbahan. Isa kasi sa paring nagmimisa ay kilala ko kaya nagsimba ako. Napaisip din ako, siguro ito na yung time para magtanong ako tungkol sa pananampalataya ko, para mawala na rin ang pagkabagabag sa dibdib ko. After the mass ay nag-approach ako sa bagong pari sa aming parokya, at yun ay si Father Topher Parraba.
                 
At yun na nga, yun ang kauna-unahang counseling ko sa isang pari. Sinabi ko lahat ng pagdududa at pag-aagam-agam ko sa ating pananampalataya na nagsimula nung sumama ako sa pagsimba sa Born Again. Isa na riyan ang tunugkol sa mga santo. Natutunan ko sa kanya yung 3 levels of reverence. Ang Latria, Hyperdulia at Dulia. Sinabi niya rin na magkaiba ang adoration sa veneration. Marami pa akong natutunan sa kanya at talagang naliwanagan ako. Dalawang oras din kaming nag-usap at pagkatapos nun ay nangumpisal ako sa kanya. Napakasarap sa pakiramdam. =)

Dun din ako nakapagdecide na simula ngayon ay magiging tagapagtanggol ako ng Simbahan. Dun ko rin narealize na ang Catholic faith pala ay higit pa sa linggu-linggong pagsimba, pagrorosaryo at pagsama sa prusisyon. Napakalawak pala at napakaganda ng sakop nito.

Simula nun ay mas naappreciate ko na ang pag-attend sa misa. Nagte-take note rin ako sa mga sinasabi ng mga pari sa homily at pinagninilayan ko pag-uwi sa bahay. Naging kumpleto rin ang pakiramdam ko lalo na nung nakakatanggap na ko ng Banal na Komunyon.  Kung dati ay naiinip ako sa misa, ngayon ay hindi na. Kung dati sumisilip-silip ako nang konti sa cellphone ko habang may misa, ngayon ay hindi na.

Umaattend na rin ako ng daily mass, yun ang debosyon ko although minsan ay hindi ko ito natutupad dahil late na kong gumising.

December 05, 2012 - isinama ako ng ex ko sa simbahan nila sa kabilang bayan, meeting lang daw so sumama ako. Di ko naman inexpect na may konting kantahan at Bible sharing  ulit. Pinagdala niya ko ng Bible. So dinala ko yung Catholic Bible ko. Kumpleto yan =)

Nung nagkaroon ng sharing, nagpreach na naman yung pastora at nakaramdam ako ng pailalim na pag-atake sa mga Katoliko. Na kesyo yung nanay daw niya ay deboto noon, araw-araw nagrorosaryo. Tinuturuan nga daw siya magrosaryo tapos may pinapamemorya raw na pagkahaba-habang dasal kaya inaantok siya. Nagpapasalamat nga daw siya dahil two years bago  namatay yung nanay niya ay 'naliwanagan' daw ito (naging born again). Binasa niya ang Bible from cover to cover. Wag din daw maniwala sa santo, hindi daw sila dapat sambahin kasi ang Diyos lang ang dapat sambahin). (sino bang may sabing sambahin ang mga santo? Gumagawa ka ng sariling kwento). Wag din daw maniwala sa Purgatoryo, wala naman daw ito sa Bibliya. Alam ko naman na ako yung pinapatamaan niya, she is trying to persuade me to convert. But sad to say, mas lalong lumakas yugn desire kong maging defender ng Simbahan.

Medyo nagalit ako nun, kasi bakit ganun, antaas ng paggalang ko sa kanila dahil napakalapit nila kay God pero ganun pala ang tingin nila sa mga Katoliko? Ang pagtingin kong iyon ay biglang bumugso. Sa tingin ba nila, gusto yun ni God? Na manghusga sila at mantuligsa? Kaya pala ganun mag-isip yung ex ko e na-brainwash na ng ganung kaisipan.

Simula noon ay nagsimula na kong magresearch.  Itinype ko sa search tab ng FB yung salitang Katoliko at lumabas ito:

Isa nga rin pala sa mga paborito kong dalawing blog ay yung blog ni Father Abe, ang The Splendor of the Church. Marami akong natutunang istratehiya kung paano sagutin ang mga heretiko na tumutuligsa sa ating Simbahan.

Hanggang sa ngayon ay patuloy pa rin ako sa pagreresearch hindi lang tungkol sa Apologetics kundi pati tungkol sa Catholic Faith. Marami na rin akong kilala at ka-close na apologist. I love what I'm doing. Siya nga po pala, wala na kami nung ex kong born again. I also have a calling to enter religious life. Ipag-pray niyo naman po ako. Thank you!

ncv.jr: Hindi naman siguro kelangang kwentahin kung gaano kalaking pera ang pumapasok sa kaban ng INC-1914 sa tuwing may araw ng pagsamba at iba pang lagak. Noong dumadalo ako sa pagsamba ng INC, yung may hawak ng abuluyan ay hindi umaalis sa harapan mo hangga't hindi naghuhulog. Kapag nagtagal siya (may hawak ng basket), pansinin mo ang katabi mo at palihim iyang susulyap sayo.

Sa pagdu-doktrina naman ay laging may paala-ala sa pag-aabuloy (baka makalimot?). (I agree on this one.  It's one of the 10 commandments of the Manalos na HINDI DAPAT KALIMUTAN! -CD2000)

Hindi ko na rin kailangan na isa-isahin kong ano pa ang pinagkakakitaan ng mga Manalos dahil hahaba lang masyado itong post ko.

Ang point lang, kung masabi mang libre ang kasal at iba pa sa INC ay dahil ito ay pwedeng ituring na "bayad na" rin at sobra-sobra pa.

Ako, personally, hindi ko itinuturing na bayad kapag nag-aabot ako sa simbahan, kundi ito ay konting contribution lang para sa gawain ng simbahan. Hindi naman kasi ako nire-require ng simbahan na laging magbigay. Kahit pagsama-samahin pa ang contributions na naibibigay ko sa simbahan (kasal [na minsan lang], libing [minsan lang], binyag [minsan lang], etc.) ay mas maliit pa rin ito kumpara sa abuloy na naibibigay ng isang INC sa kaban ng Manalos.

Nakakatuwa naman na nasabi sa post ng INC na ang pagli-live-in ay tinututulan ng simbahan. Higit kasing matimbang sa akin ang maunawaang hindi ito itinuturo ng simbahan. Sa panig ng nagli-live-in, yun ay isang bagay na sarili nilang desisyon. Kung minsan, ginagawa lang nilang dahilan ang "bayad" daw sa kasal. Yung mga taong sinasabi mo, sa palagay ko, kahit may "kasalang-bayan" ay hindi pa rin magpapakasal dahil sa totoo lang ay ayaw nila.

Sigurado ka bang walang nagli-live-in na INC?

Na, walang gumagawa ng pre-marital sex?

Walang bakla o tomboy?

Tungkol sa third sex, may mga kilala akong tomboy sa INC. Pumupunta ng kapilya na nakapanlalaking attire (or sabihin nating unisex, katulad ng maong pants) pero nagpapalit lang ng lady dress kapag andun na sa loob ng kapilya. Bago lumabas, nakapagpalit na ulit ng damit.
